DESCRIPTION:Onancock Planning Commission Citizen Workshop 3 November 2025\, 6-8 pm\nThe Town of Onancock has a Comprehensive Plan\, required by state statute. (If you want to\nsee the current plan\, it can be found on the town website.) It is time for the Comprehensive\nPlan to be revised\, and the Onancock Planning Commission has the task of preparing it.\nWe will spend the winter months preparing a first draft and will share it for comment. Now\nwe are working to gather ideas and concerns from residents and local businesspeople.\nThis is the first of several gatherings. The results of these gatherings will be pulled together\ninto a report that will be available for the public and will help the Planning Commission with\nits work.\nFIRST TASK. You will be organized into groups and will introduce yourself to your group\nmembers. Elect a spokesperson.\nSECOND TASK. QUESTION PROMPTS. These are intended to get the conversation\ngoing and provide guidance to the Planning Commission. Take a few minutes to jot\ndown responses. Then your group will discuss and collect your ideas onto paper\, and\nyour spokesperson will present them to the meeting.\nI like living in Onancock because….\nOnancock has a problem with….\nI would like to see Onancock become….\nI wish that town government would….\nIn the future\, Onancock should….\nWhat would make Onancock a better place for families with children?\nWhat would make Onancock a better place for senior citizens to live?\nIf you had a chance to open a business in town\, what kind would it be?\nShare with the group a story about the town.\nWhat else do we need to know?\nTASK THREE.
