TOWN OF ONANCOCK
HARBORMASTER, FULL-TIME
F/T position with benefits/ Open Until Filled
Salary: $30,000 -$35,000 depending on experience
The Town of Onancock is now accepting applications for a full-time Harbormaster.
Description: The Harbormaster reports to the Town Manager and is responsible for marina operations, including the ability to moor vessels, pump gas, and perform basic maintenance tasks. The position will require management duties, including supervision of wharf staff, financial recordkeeping, marketing wharf activities, and maintenance of a boater reservation system.    The position will also include grant preparation and administration.
Qualifications: A completed high school education or GED equivalent is required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred. The ability to lift heavy objects, assist boaters with tying up their vessels, and perform basic maintenance tasks are a must. Experience with marina operations and/or the maritime industry is a plus. A minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience. Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated supervisory and financial management experience. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
