Cokesbury Church – Lee Jordan-Anders and Thomas Marshall will perform a concert, “Windows: A Keyboard Kaleidoscope”

Lee Jordan-Anders and Thomas Marshall will perform a concert, “Windows: A Keyboard Kaleidoscope,” at the Historic Cokesbury Church on Sunday, April 28, at 4 p.m. The concert will celebrate the return of the final group of stained glass windows that have just been restored. A brief ceremony of re-dedication of the windows will precede the concert. The program will include music for piano, organ, and harpsichord, including works by C.P.E. Bach, J. S. Bach, Karg-Elert, Jacques Lemmens, César Franck, and Claude Debussy. The program is free and open to the public.

Pianist Lee Jordan-Anders is Professor of Music and Artist-in-Residence Emerita at Virginia Wesleyan University in Norfolk, Virginia, where she served on the faculty for twenty-nine years. She was Music Director and Conductor of the Orchestra of the Eastern Shore from 2009 to 2014 and now enjoys teaching at the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk. She continues to perform frequently both as a soloist and as a collaborating pianist.

Thomas Marshall has been an instructor at the College of William and Mary for 22 years. He has also served for more than two decades as harpsichordist for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation where he has performed numerous works of the concerto grosso style in original orchestrations, on original instruments. He is featured on many of the historical recordings issued by the Foundation. A longtime member of the American Guild of Organists, he has served as organist for the Williamsburg United Methodist Church since 1977 and performs frequently with the Virginia Symphony and numerous baroque chamber ensembles.
