As part of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society’s Last Plank campaign, please consider purchasing a personalized cast bronze plaque to be mounted in the recently renovated pier area at Hopkins & Bro. Store. For $300, your name, your family’s name, or the name of your business will be displayed on a 3″x10″ plank plaque. For $750, a dedication will be inscribed on an 8″x8″ plaque that will wrap a piling. At $2,500, a dedication will be inscribed on a prominently displayed 5″x24″ finger pier plaque. Proceeds will go toward additional expenses incurred while the Historical Society has been renovating the pier area as part of a three-year capital campaign.  They include integrating the dock and patio as well as the purchase and installation of a commercial handicap ramp. Work at the wharf also has shown how much the building’s exterior needs painting. ESVHS recently widened the deck and built the bulkhead taller. All finger piers and pilings were replaced, and the once-snaking bulkhead stands straight.
